What RentReceipt does

RentReceipt provides a tool for tenants to generate rent receipt documents. The Service allows you to create, download, email, and store rent receipt PDFs based on information you provide.

Your responsibilities

Accuracy of information

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter into the receipt generator. RentReceipt does not verify the accuracy of any data you provide, including tenant names, landlord names, property addresses, rent amounts, or payment dates.

Lawful use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not use RentReceipt to:

• Generate fraudulent or misleading receipts
• Create receipts for rent payments that did not occur
• Misrepresent payment amounts, dates, or parties involved
• Engage in any form of fraud, tax evasion, or deception

Generating a receipt through RentReceipt does not constitute proof of payment. It is a record created by you based on information you provide.

Account security

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at support@rentreceipt.io if you suspect unauthorized access.

The Service

Free tier

RentReceipt offers a free tier that includes unlimited receipt generation, PDF downloads, and limited email delivery. The free tier may be modified at any time, but we will provide reasonable notice of material changes.

Paid plans

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard or Stripe’s customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@rentreceipt.io for refund requests.

Service availability

We strive to keep RentReceipt available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

Intellectual property

Our content

The RentReceipt name, logo, website design, and underlying code are our property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

Your content

You retain ownership of all data you enter into the Service. We do not claim any rights to your receipt data, personal information, or generated documents. By using the email feature, you grant us permission to send emails on your behalf to the addresses you specify.

Not legal or financial advice

RentReceipt is a document generation tool. We do not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Information about rent receipt requirements in specific states or jurisdictions is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as legal guidance. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

No verification

RentReceipt does not verify, validate, or guarantee:

• That any rent payment actually occurred
• The identity of any tenant or landlord
• The accuracy of any property address or rent amount
• The legal validity of any generated receipt in any jurisdiction

As-is basis

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentReceipt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Email communications

By using the email feature, you confirm that you have a legitimate reason to send a receipt to the specified email address (e.g., it is your own email or your landlord’s email with their knowledge). You must not use the email feature to send unsolicited messages to people who have not requested a receipt from you.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the email feature for any account that we reasonably believe is being used for spam or abuse.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently remove your data from our systems.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
